«World Mental Health Day is an opportunity to raise public awareness of the impact of mental factor on the general state of health.
Diseases that undermine mental health have a significant impact on the quality of life of affected people, with serious consequences on their personal, family, relational and work spheres.
An alarming data is the spread of forms of self-harm among young people between 15 and 29 years of age, who feel imprisoned by psychic suffering because of many factors.
In this context, it is necessary to strengthen a common responsibility to ensure the well-being of all citizens through strong health policy measures that emphasize the importance of prevention, early diagnosis and rehabilitation in mental health and that allow to identify inclusion interventions created in accordance with the actual and changing condition of discomfort.
The protection of each individual's dignity and the value of solidarity must inspire the commitment of the institutions, promoting the knowledge and understanding of mental disorders to improve the general attitude towards affected people and to overcome prejudices and discrimination in harmony with the principles enshrined in our Constitutional Charter».
